2011
We
receive many verbal compliments for not only
the success of an event or the ambiance of
the venue, or special extended services
provided but occasionally we receive a
letter like the one below. We were
more than pleased to assist however we could
and thank the bride for being calm, cool and
collected during what was a stressful period
and for making it so easy to work things
out.

Subject: Wedding Reception Saturday,
August 27, 2011
I wanted to write and say THANK YOU
for helping make our wedding and reception a
truly unforgettable experience. The
venue itself is beautiful, spacious, and
perfect for both a wedding ceremony and the
reception. We didn't feel the need to
do a lot of decorating as the building is
beautiful as it is.
We were originally planning on only using
Saint Thomas for our reception as we were
planning an outdoor wedding. When
Hurricane Irene decided to show
up the weekend of the wedding and we had to
move our wedding up a day so our wedding
party who mostly work for emergency services
could still be in the wedding, it only took
one phone call to Saint Thomas to make
everything happen. They helped us to
arrange the wedding a day earlier than
planned, and their staff set up for the
ceremony simple and stress free.
The wedding went off seamlessly and erased
any stress I was feeling. Going into
the next day when we had our reception I had
no worries. The reception set up was
exactly what we wanted, and guests commented
on what a beautiful venue Saint Thomas was
for all of the events of the weekend.
Not only did the staff make the set up easy,
when we compared the value we got at Saint
Thomas compared to other wedding / reception
venues in the area we got the best value for
our money that we could have asked for.
Thank you again for all that you did to make
our day special. I would highly
recommend Saint Thomas Preservation Hall to
anyone that asked.
Sincerely,
SV
May 2011: Canopy
Addition to the Main Entrance

In
addition to dressing up the entrance the
canopy will:
-
Provide protection from the elements for
attendees
-
Limit
the amount of rain water that is
transferred inside the building
-
Protect the original main doors which
are essentially interior doors. A
vestibule structure once protected the
doors but was removed sometime in the
early 1980's. There is continued
maintenance required and the canopy will
help by providing shielding from the sun
and elements.
Now available - Custom Dance Floor

Select a size for your specific event:
9' x 12' = $100 + $30 set up = $130
12' x 15' = $125 + $35 set up = $160
15' x 18' = $150 + $40 set up = $190
Mention the dance floor when booking your
event and we will reserve it as part of your
agreement.
October 2010: New Bride's Room

We are
pleased to announce the completion of our
Bride's Room on the first floor of the
facility. This cozy 12' x 12' room has
chairs to relax in, a six foot long vanity
with electrical outlets, wall stanchions to
hand gowns and other clothing, privacy, full
length mirror, its own private powder room
and many other amenities to assist in making
a special day even more special and as
comfortable as possible.

It's
development comes with a big thanks to the
artist, Ellis Furst, for the incredible
artwork that covers the walls and ceilings
of the Bride's Room and the adjacent powder
room. It must be seen to grasp its
magnificence.

The room
is available now for use on the day of your
wedding at no additional cost.

2010: A New Look
In our
continuing effort to improve and restore
Saint Thomas Preservation Hall we have
recently updated the front area of the
building from the main floor to the balcony
with new paint, a new color scheme, and a
whole new look. See the photo below.
In addition, we have added screw-eyes in
discrete locations enabling our guests to
decorate to the extent of their
imaginations. By using these
screw-eyes and hooks with wire-ties,
decorative wire, and/or ribbon and string
the decorative effect desired is achievable
and therefore the use of nails, screws,
staples, tape or other fasteners or sticky
substances are completely unnecessary as
well as being disallowed in Saint Thomas
Preservation Hall.
