Saint Thomas Preservation Hall is proud to announce the recipient of our Valentine Wedding For A Marine!  The recipients are CPL Cory B. Mathis and Marissa E. Silva.

CPL Mathis is stationed at Camp Lejeune, where he has served as infantry for six years.  The couple met in December 2008 through mutual friends in Wilmington, NC.  On May 4, 2009 Cory was deployed to Afghanistan.  On October 4, 2009 Cory's vehicle was hit be an IED.  Both of Cory's legs were crushed from the knees down and his spleen had to be removed.  He has undergone nine surgeries and is now in Philadelphia undergoing physical therapy.  This was his 3rd deployment, the first two being in Iraq.

Cory and Melissa will be married at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall on February 14, 2010.  All arrangements for the wedding and reception are being coordinated by Saint Thomas Preservation Hall and donated by grateful Wilmington merchants and citizens.  This is to honor all of the men and women in our Armed Forces for their bravery and sacrifices.
